IN MEMORIAM: Our dear friend and neighbor John Pappas has passed away. John and his wife Amelia were long time residents of the Circle as well as past members of the Board of Directors. There will be an open house at their daughter Helen’s home on Friday, January 3, 2020 from 2:00 to 6:00 pm.

CRIME PREVENTION PRESENTATION:

 FRAUDS, SCAMS And IDENTITY THEFT…OH MY!

Do YOU know the difference between a scam and a con; or how to protect yourself from identity THEFT? Peggy does. She wants to help you learn how to best protect yourself from becoming a victim.

Margaret (Peggy), Licensed CP Specialist from the Lee County Sheriff’s will be at MYERLEE CIRCLE CLUBHOUSE on Thursday, January 30, 2020 At 4:45 PM……don’t be late

You will learn about many types of identity theft happening in our country today, how to be vigilant of Skimmers at Gas Stations, ATMs and what to do when you get an unwanted telephone call.

Bring your friends and neighbors and a dish to share after the presentation, along with your favorite libation!

 TRASH AND TREASURE: The Trash and Treasure Sale date is Saturday, January 18. We are going to start moving the donations from the Maintenance building to the club house on Monday the 13th, at 9:00 am. If you have last minute small items to donate, you may bring those to the clubhouse. No clothing please.

We can use any help that you may be able to provide for setting up and pricing. For any questions, please call Pearl Prevoir at 774-994-1752, or Liz McGuire at 239-481-1327.

A Bake Sale will also take place at Trash and Treasure. Volunteer bakers are needed. Please call Sandy Levinthal at

WOMEN’S CLUB MEETING:  Women’s club meeting will be on Monday, January 6. Come and join us at 10:00 am for coffee. Meeting will start at 10:30 am. This time it will be a short meeting, mainly to discuss Trash and Treasure Sale.

BOOK CLUB: Due to our Trash and Treasure Sale, we won’t be having a Book Club meeting this month. See you next month on the second Tuesday. More info in the February newsletter. The meetings are held at the Myerlee Country Club. Lunch follows.  If you need further information, please call Eileen Lightell at 239-415-9318

MEN’S PANCAKE BREAKFAST: The men will be holding their monthly pancake breakfast Saturday morning, January 11, from 8:30 to 9:30 am. Please join us for a delicious breakfast of pancakes, savory sausage, eggs, coffee and orange juice, and best of all great company.

PIZZA DINNER: Our next pizza dinner will be on Thursday, January 23, at 5:00 pm. There is no charge for the pizza. It is the Myerlee Circle Women’s Club treat J. You may bring a salad or dessert. And don’t forget your “adult beverage”.

Please call 239-481-8387, Monday through Friday no later than January 21, to make your reservation and let her know how many are attending. A head count is a must for this time so that we know how many pizzas to order. So please, do call. Our thanks. See you there.

Wednesday January 15-Dinner outing to Boathouse 31

Meet at 4pm at the Myerlee Circle Clubhouse sidewalk. This will be a car pooling event.

We need volunteer drivers! Even if you told Bev Chandley in passing that you want to attend please either call or text her at 239-910-3790 or email her at bevchandley1@gmail.com to confirm you will be attending. The tiki bar is outside, covered and has upright heaters but bring a sweater or light jacket just in case.

Friday January 31- Seminole Railway Murder Mystery Dinner Train

For this one we need reservations and prepayment so be sure to sign up with Bev Chandley by January 25th!

This is a car pool event so when you sign up please let Bev know if you can drive. The group will meet at our clubhouse sidewalk at 5:15pm. Return time should be around 10-10:30. Even if you told Bev in passing that you were interested please sign up and we can arrange payment. The price is $84.95 which does NOT include tax, tip or alcohol. Those things you pay for on the train. All aboard!

 WEEKLY ACTIVITIES:  Don’t forget these groups meeting every week at the Circle Clubhouse for fun activities:

Water Aerobics: Water Aerobics will meet every Tuesday and Friday at 10:00 am barring cold and or inclement weather.

 Chair and Gentle Yoga

Mondays: 9:00 am. Chair and Gentle Yoga

Thursdays: 9:00 am. Gentle and Beginning Yoga

Thursdays: 10:00 am. Balance and Strength Chair Yoga (seated and some standing)

All dvd classes are held at the Myerlee clubhouse and run approximately one hour.

The Myerlee Circle Art Group meets at the Clubhouse every Thursday at 1:00pm. If you wish to join us, please call Barbara at 239-437-8242 for more information.

Knitting and Crocheting Group: The “Knitting/Crocheting for Charity” group will  be meeting on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month, at The Myerlee clubhouse at 2:00 pm.  All are welcome.

 Happy Hour meets every Thursday at 4:30 in the Clubhouse. Bring a snack of your choice along with your beverage and get in on the latest scoop.

Bocce Players: On Friday afternoons around 4:00, why not come out to the Bocce court for some fun and laughs. It is right behind the clubhouse. If you wish to use the court at any other time, you are welcome. The balls are inside the clubhouse kitchen door and the broom used to smooth the court is in the pool’s utility closet.

The shuffleboard courts are ready for your use. Pucks and sticks are in the clubhouse pantry!

We also have cornhole game equipment in the closet on the patio. Help yourself to using these also. You can set this up on the lawn to enjoy.
